Success in Pine Martin Trapping
January 10, 2025
George A. Lane, 91, of Westvale, went home on January 10, 2025 to be reunited with his beloved wife, Gertrude, who passed away in 2012. George resided in Westvale for over 60 years and was a graduate of Solvay High School. He worked at Solvay Lanes as a pinsetter, and The Calet Theater as an Usher when he was young man. George served in the Army Reserves. He was Co-Owner of Armani Plumbing and Heating, he retired in 1988. He was a lifetime member and on the Board of Directors with The Pinnacle Rod and Gun Club; Mad River Club and CNY Wildfowlers; a lifetime member of Tyrol Club in Solvay and the Sportman’s Roundtable. George was also the Leader of the Littlejohn Gang. He was a hunter, fisherman and all- around sportsman, as well as avid bowler back in the day.
George was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it, whether he knew you or not and asked for nothing in return. George loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and all his friends. George is survived by his son Michael (Janet) Lane of LaFayette, daughter Stacey Lane-Sauve (Jay) of Syracuse, his grandchildren Kara Lane of LaFayette NY, Chelsea (Greg) Wright of Jordan NY, and Erich (Rachel) Parker of Powhatan VA. He is also survived by his precious great granddaughter, Novella Faith Parker, his brothers, Eugene (Anna) Armani, Gerald (Marilyn) Armani and Fred Armani, and many nieces and nephews and longtime friend Terry McElwain and more friends that he could count. George was the “Norm” of Cheers.
At least now we will know the answer to the frequently asked question – Where’s George?
He’s finally at peace. Thank you on George’s behalf.
Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery Geddes.
